Christmas

Christmas is always great so to say 'Christmas was great this year!' would only seem redundant and lacks the true meaning of my soul. I love Christmas for a few reasons.

First being I get to spend time with my family. My family is the most important thing in my life. This year it really felt like Christmas whereas last year being on Hydrocodone did quite feel like Christmas. We've started our own traditions and we are starting to feel like a 'real' family. Rayder didn't understand but he loved the tissue paper!

Another reason I love Christmas is because I get a healthy dose of humility and gratitude slapped in my face. This is a good thing. Not that I forget to be thankful during the rest of the year I just always feel especially grateful during the holidays. This year was almost bittersweet. My little family Christmas was perfect. However because of other things going on around me I have shed a few more tears this year then in the past. I have a friend who has never been especially religious contact me on Christmas Eve asking that I help pray for her sister who is currently trying to recover from a car accident. From what it sounds like it's going to be a really hard recovery, if a recovery is possible. Even to this day I hold hope in my heart and a prayer in my mind for her.

Rayder was extremely spoiled for his birthday in the end of November so we went a little light on the presents for him this year. He got an outfit, shoes, and some magnetic letters for the refrigerator. However, he was extremely spoiled by the grandparents. :) This year Kris and I decided to not give each other gifts but to get a 'family' Xbox 360. BUT Kris, being the perfect man ever, got me a gift. :) I got a new camera that takes really great pictures and short videos :) I couldn't be happier.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and remembers to be grateful for what we have, even if it is only health and love.

I know what you mean by a bittersweet Christmas. Mine was wonderful, yet my heart ached for others for whom it was not so wonderful.

And I'm proud to be one of the spoiling grandparents. :)
